I swear, it was totally a coincidence that I was watching David Letterman tonight for the first time in weeks and Jennifer Love Hewitt and Danica Patrick were the featured guests. But I'm glad I happened to tune in, partially because it was confirmed that Danica Patrick isn't really that attractive, but rather just the most attractive IRL driver ever. Of course, aside from Ms. Patrick, who I still assume is Dan Patrick's daughter, no other IRL driver is a woman, so her being generally viewed as "hot" is sort of like being the prettiest girl on Alcatraz. Mostly I was happy to see The Late Show, however, because during the segment, The Grilled Cheese Challenge, Rupert, the most famous deli owner in recent memory, was sporting a Hastings College t-shirt. My response went a little something like this:
"Oh (expletive deleted)! He's wearing a Hastings College shirt."
This was probably the most unexpected exposure for the Cornhusker state since at least last Saturday when that Jolly Cosgrove popped up in Chestnut Hill.
I have no idea how Rupert came to own an HC shirt, but the most likely, and probably only, explanation is that there is an intern from Hastings on the staff. If anyone has information on this, please let me know.
Speaking of unexpected exposure, Sacramento has its first sports championship in city history. That's right, the WNBA's Monarchs took it home tonight in a game that featured a brutal knife fight at center court between the two coaches, one of the player's giving birth between free throws in the third quarter and Robby Gordon blasting Nancy Kerrigan in the knee with his helmet prior to their scheduled "O' Canada" duet. What? You didn't see it? It all happened I swear! Of course, no video footage exists because this is the WNBA.
Seriously, do you think the Maloof's were even at the game? If you owned both the Palms Hotel and Casino and the Sacramento Monarchs where would you be on a Tuesday night? It's sure to be a big ball in Cowtown tonight!

Brandon,
It came from Chris Schukei who was an intern at the David Letterman show some time ago. The funny thing though is that when Chris was an intern at the Letterman show HC had the old Logo yes I do mean the great bucking bronco logo. Now known as the "Spirit" at the HC. Rupert was wearing a shirt with a new logo which Chris sent out there recently and the rest is David Letterman history.
From a proud HC Alum
