Congratulations to the Creighton Bluejays who punched their ticket to the Dance today with a 67-61 victory over Southern Illinois, ending the Egyptian dogs 13-game winning streak.The experts were all saying both teams were in the tournament regardless of today's outcome, but it feels damn good to finally beat SIU. The last time Creighton did that was in 2003 for, you guessed it, the MVC Tournament championship. The Jays were probably in anyway, but it will be nice not having to count conference tournament upsets over the next week.
Dana Altman is now 6-0 in MVC Championship games. More to come on this tomorrow...
