They were right...it is about fundamentals

Gotta make your free throws fellas!

After two days of an N.C.A.A. Tournament by the books, today has finally delivered drama with close games across the board.

But one thing has been conspicuous this Saturday: free throws, and I don't mean makes.

Xavier had the worst miss from the charity stripe of the tournament thus far, but the final minute of the A&M-L'vuhl game was enough to drive junior high coaches across the country crazy.

Trailing by one, the Cardinals' Edgar Sosa missed two free throws after after shooting 15-15 on freebies up to that point. Perhaps even more shocking in terms of hoops karma, it didn't hurt because the Aggies missed two of their own on the other end but survived in the end by forcing Sosa into taking a 24-footer with five seconds left...after Louisville had just called a timeout!

Somewhere Rick Barry weeps...

UPDATE: Add to the list of ignominy Levance Fields of Pitt. He just missed two throws with 2 seconds left in a tie game. Pitt lead VCU by 2o at one point.
