Further thoughts from a football Saturday...

--The Mississippi's are killing me! I took both of the Magnolia State's representatives with the points on the road and they're both going to lose it in the 4th quarter.

--Colorado looks spunky against Oklahoma. They're threatening to make this a one score game following a turnover.

--Iowa is awful.

--Nice to see Nebraska come out and exert their will to start the second half. This game should be in the neighborhood of 28-0.

--Unless things change in a hurry, the HPSWBT could take a beating this weekend.

--Check that. Richmond might have the best helmets on the East Coast. Think the Ole Miss helmets with a red spider instead of a wordmark. Classy.

--Good night ISU. 93-yard INT return by Bo Ruud for a TD. He doesn't pick it often. Only when he can take it to the house.

--Colorado misses a FG but then picks it on the next play. 24-17 in the 4th. Stay tuned.

--OU is mortal! They stop CU yet again but fumble the punt return. 1st and 10 CU at or near the 20.

--But the Buffs, as usual, can't stop cheating. Flags are killing Colorado.

--45-yard FG gives CU the win! K-State, after giving up the tying score, returns the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown. 21-15 K-State. Viva el Norte!

--24-14 KSU. Could OU and Texas both go down one week before the Red River Shootout?

--Nebraska hasn't quite salted this game away yet. The Blackshirts need to get off the field soon.

--Cal 3 Oregon 10. So much for a shootout. It would be nice if 2/3's of the country could see this game.

--Nebraska wins 35-17. That should quite things down a bit in the Cornhusker State, especially when you consider our offense was on the field for approximately four minutes the entire game. Given what else has happened today, regardless of whether or not K-State wins, this has been a good week for the Cornhuskers. The entire Big 12 has been blown wide open--and exposed nationally--which should give Nebraska a shade more confidence heading into Columbia next week.

--Clemson is killing me. They may be the only hope I have left in my pick'em group. How desperate has it gotten? I just loaded up on Auburn.

--What is the sound of one hand clapping? Probably a lot like Alabama-FSU looks.

--Granted I've been flipping around a lot but I haven't seen a single highlight from the Cal-Oregon game. How is that possible? Clemson-GT, my ABC game, just finished and I went directly to Rutgers-Maryland. Great.

--Is anyone any good this year? Oklahoma, West Virginia, Texas? All beaten this week. LSU snoozed through Tulane. Rutgers fell to Maryland. Wisconsin squeaked by Michigan State and, despite the fact that nobody likes them much, could end up in the top five before it's all said and done. Maybe Cal is legit. Winning at Oregon is no small feat. I know this, Florida and USC have a big chance to make statements tonight.
