Breaking news as I'm stranded at Logan. The Celtics got what appears to be, to my admittedly untrained eye, a steal in tonight's draft. With the 18th pick, the C's selected Gerald Green, a 6-7 high school swingman out of Texas. ESPN.com had him ranked as the top shooting guard in the draft, but for whatever reason he was the fourth picked. News that is potentially distressing, but still, this guy has a lot of "upside" as the talking heads say.
Why did he fall after be projected to go in the top seven? I don't know because I can't watch it, but I'm guessing work ethic questions. But still, in the last draft to feature high school players thanks to the new collective bargaining agreement, it looks like the Celtics grabbed a great athlete to complement their newfound youth from last year.
So here I sit, keeping tabs on the draft, watching tiny colored blips circle the bases that represent the Cubs-Brewers game and listening to whatever iTunes spits out. Air travel, it's great.
