Words? Consider them marked.

Believe it or not, Roger Craig spent last Saturday in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

It's true and between rounds--or it could've been after or before but between sounds better--he had some pretty lofty predictions for the Omaha World Herald regarding the 2007 Cornhuskers.

"This year they will break into the Top 10 because I think they have the tools, and the coaches understand how to teach the West Coast offense to the players. That takes a lot of time to learn the West Coast offense."

More precisely, Craig said it took him about three years to wrap his mind around the WCO in San Francisco. Considering that Bill is entering his fourth year, I suspect Craig meant the timing could be right this year, but for me it just raised the favorite question of the Solichistas/Callahaters: is the WCO too complicated for college? Keller's progression should give us the closest thing we've had to answer to date. If a kid with unquestionable talent can't come in and run it let the hot seat heat.

But if he can, well, we'll go back to Roger for some Trojan bulletin board fodder:

"Now that they are comfortable and they know what they need, they are going to do some big things this year. They are going to upset USC, and I can't wait. I will be at that game. It's the third game of the season, and we are going to upset those boys. Mark my words."

I find it difficult to think too much about USC at this point considering Nebraska is still more than a month away from even practicing. Let me see me some Sam before I make any predictions, but the simple fact that the game is in Lincoln means Nebraska will have at least one marked advantage coming in and that's probably one more than they had last year.

But he did call USC "those boys." It feels so nostalgic and collegial. "Those boys" don't sound like freakishly athletic 1st round draft picks in waiting at all. They sound like a fine and just opponent for our boys. We can definitely beat "those boys."

But USC? Well, if Roger's on board in June, I guess I can be. Plenty of time for evaluation between now and Nevada
