We Have a Winner - Keller to Start against the 'Pack

The Lincoln Journal-Star is reporting that Sam Keller will start against Nevada.

For most of Husker Nation and the national media, there was really no question as to who would eventually win the job, there was some question, however, as to whether or not waiting until the week of the Nevada game would be needless dallying for the sake of deception. Of course the concern was that you might deceive your own offense in the process.

It seems as if Callahan reached the same conclusion and honestly this feels like a great start to the season. No more "controversy," no more "battle." The players can stop dancing around the question and toeing the company line and get down to going work which is precisely what Keller would like to do:

"OK, I'm humbled, I'm honored, but let's go to work. It's just the beginning," Keller was quoted in the LJS as saying following the announcement.

I don't put much stock into quotes but that's probably as good and honest a response as you could've hoped for out of a starting quarterback.

Now Nebraska has theirs and there are few things the fine residents of the Cornhusker state appreciate more than good, honest work.

Kudos to Callahan for ending the race and enabling everyone to do just that.
