Nowledge - Wake Forest Week

A quick look at the past week in Nebraska football as I jam my suitcase with a week's worth of red...

To set the tone, here is one of about 100 songs that are better than "Sirius":

All the info you need to know from the pros is right here, but if your looking for 10 good reasons Nebraska will win at Wake look no further than Steve Hanway's analysis for the Big Red Network. Like all good conversation, it originated at a bar.

This dude doesn't think the Red Tide will be in full effect in Winston-Salem. According to the Nebraska ticket office John Delong actually purchased two out of about 20 or 30 tickets that Nebraska released mid-week upon learning the entire band would not be traveling. That's right, Nebraska's band will not be at full strength come Saturday. Watch the line move!

I'm still guessing that there will be a noticeable scarlet tint to the stadium tomorrow. It won't be a half-upheaval like Clemson is capable of but Nebraska doesn't share a border with North Carolina either. We'll be there.

And they'll be here in two weeks. Lee, Kirk, Chris and the rest of the crew that is. As Gerogia Sports correctly predicted, ESPN's College Gameday will reportedly be in Lincoln for the USC game. Do not take this to mean I'm overlooking Wake Forest.

Do not take this to mean I'm overlooking Wake Forest Redux: TJ Simers is coming to West Point. There's been some debate as to whether or not this is playing directly into the cloven-hoofed hands of the snarky Simers. Won't he just scoff at the small-town hospitality he's sure to get? I say if you happen to meet Simers over the next week treat him like you'd treat anybody else. I know the small-town thing isn't for everyone but if he can't appreciate the unique appeal of a rural setting and a simpler pace then screw him.

Football=War. Maybe those cliches aren't so ill-informed.

I'd personally like to welcome Throw the Bones to the Nebraska blogosphere. Love that name.

I'll be on the road for the next week plus so posts might be slightly more sporadic but I'll do my best. If you'll be at either the Wake Forest or USC game and want to share a beer, feel free to get in touch: brandonlvogel[at]gmail[dot]com

Thanks for the welcome Brandon. The voices in my head compelled me to start writing some of my thoughts about the Huskers...and whatever else they want to talk about. Enjoy your blog as well and hope I can make mine half as interesting.
