So to celebrate, I thought we'd revel in the lack of frustration today by remembering the not so good times. Now there are a lot of those to choose from, but through the magic of YouTube we're headed straight for April 29, 1983 and Lee Elia's infamous tirade.
To set the stage, Elia's Cubs had just fallen to 5-14 to start the '83 season and were booed at home by the 8,000 or so fans in attendance. What follows, is Elia's response:
(WARNING: This video/slide show contains explicit content that may be offensive to people without a sense of humor. No really, it's filthy. Luke Campbell and 2 Live Crew probably crammed as much profanity into three minutes as Elia did. Unless you're a sailor with some sort of Internet access, this is definitely NSFW.)
I would estimate that I feel that level of frustration with the Cubs at least five times a month. In fact, giving the Cubs odd disparity between meaningful statistics and actual wins this year, I'm officially proclaiming "Once we hit that #@$!&% groove, it'll flow" the official motto of the 2007 Cubs.

Should have added sounds of a goat being slaughtered to video?
