Beside the dish, at least at Wrigley, he's fine. Behind the dish, Michael Barrett continues to struggle.

The Cubs catcher picked up his 400th career RBI in the 8th, driving in Derrek Lee to tie the game, but I think the only thing Sweet Lou is thinking about this morning is another defensive lapse.

The short version: Barrett had a chance to make a play to keep the game tied in the top of the 13th and didn't.

The barely longer version: Jacque Jones actually made a decent throw to the plate, Barrett had it blocked, but when he went to tag Jose Vidro the ball simply wasn't there.

These things happen. I'm not blaming Barrett but I still have a feeling he's a continual resident in Pinella's doghouse. The Cubs are 1-6 in extra inning games, 4-14 in one-run affairs and it always seems like Barrett is somehow involved.

Of course, if you load the bases twice in the final five innings, once with no outs, and don't score a single run then you probably don't deserve to win anyway so keep your head up Michael.
