Ummm, nobody?
There's not a horse in the race that can beat Big Brown at his best. However, Big Brown doesn't run off two weeks rest so I'm doubtful he'll be at his best. It makes me nervous. Not that he won't win but that something bad could happen.
If I were going to try and beat him I'd be looking at Gayego again. I liked him for the Derby and he wasn't a factor but the Preakness has been good to the Arkansas Derby winner in the past and he has the speed to stay in the race.
I'm not buying Kentucky Bear but Behindatthebar looks live.
And for some reason I think Tres Borrachos might be able to hang around for a piece at the end. (This is likely due to the fact that I cannot pass up the chance to bet a horse whose name is 'Three Drunks').
Casino Drive. Belmont. Book it.
I really hope Big Brown wins Saturday just so we'll get the Casino Drive/Big Brown showdown in New York.
If that happens, I'll be making the trip down from Boston.
I'll be damned if I'm gonna let these Japanese interlopers waltz in and steal our third jewel of the Triple Crown.
